Mid-Ohio Valley

Multi-Cultural Festival

Bring the kids and spend some time playing with the Fun Factory's professional grade attractions. Please note that this is not a free feature of the festival and the cost varies.

Bring the kids for a free Hoop Making Workshop in the Pavilion at 3:30 pm, then bring the hoops they just made to the Hula Hooping Workshop at the Arts in Motion Stage at 5pm. Space is limited.

Children's Hoop Making Workshop

Angie Iafrate is a certified (hula-)hoop instructor and founder of Mid-Ohio Valley Hoopla, and will be holding a workshop in the child's activity center. Using black irrigation tubing, colorful tapes, and optional shaker/noisemakers like beads on the inside, children will make their very own hula hoops to take home and keep forever. After making the hoops, Angie will lead everyone out to the Arts in Motion venue to do a quick lesson. She might teach a fun trick or two, or maybe just dance with hoops to some groovy beats.  And remember, this is an activity for girls AND boys to enjoy!

The children's center features free Children's hands-on art and craft activities from different countries, International games, and up close artist's performances.  The Festival introduces over 300 children yearly to art projects such as:

  • Guatemalan Worry Dolls

  • Edelweiss Hats

  • Multi-Racial Paper Dolls

  • Flower Pot Rattles

  • Rhythm Bracelets

  • Chinese Paper Fans

The children's activity center is located inside the City Park Pavilion. Children under age 6 must be accompanied by a parent.
