Narin the Mermaid

Born in the sparkling waters of Mermaid Lagoon in Neverland comes Narin the Mermaid. She swims to us currently from the city where three rivers meet, Pittsburgh PA. Narin prefers the lazy fresh water rivers of the Eastern US as their are plenty of lovely creatures there for her to talk to and frolic with. She feels that it is very important to keep our rivers and streams healthy for everyone who lives near or in them. Come say "Hello" to her by the Arts in Motion Stage on Friday evening and keep Wishing on the Waves.

Sabrina Wittekind is a world dance enthusiast and a certified Zumba® Fitness instructor since 2010. Being certified in Aqua Zumba®, Zumba® Kids, Zumba® Kids Jr., and Zumba® Toning, she offers classes and private lessons in many local establishments in the Mid-Ohio Valley- SWAGG Studio and Stacey's Dance Studio of Marietta being some of her locations.Coming from a Mexican-American background, her goal is to educate participants and share her love for the different genres of Latin dance such as: Cumbia, Salsa, Bachata, Reggaeton, Tribal, Folklórico, and Merengue.

Having studied dance since the age of 10 and attending multiple workshops and sessions under world-class presenters, she takes her knowledge and cultural background to offer us a “Latino Fusion” with other cultural genres such as: African, Hawaiian, Polynesian, Bhangra, and Bollywood. Each session is designed to give participants exposure to the combination of world rhythms and is appropriate for ALL ages. The goals is for participants to enjoy a non-judgmental atmosphere while learning movement of traditional dances from around the world!

Our train will make several facinating stops along the way to view the Civil War, Native Americans, Industrialization, "King Coal", Jimmy Rogers "The Singing Brakeman", and more. "All Aboard the Iron Horse" is a delightful railroad journey down the winding tracks of American folklore. So harken to the timeless call of the conductor: "All aboard...the Iron Horse!"

Tiffani Ahdia is a professional dance artist, instructor, and choreographer based in the USA and is highly sought after for her knowledge and skills in the styles of Bollywood, Bellydance, and Brazilian Samba. Tiffani has over twenty years of extensive training in various styles of dance and began her Bollywood and classical styles of Indian dance studies in 2010 with the industry’s most desirable teachers. Now is your chance to learn the style of dance that brings together all the culturally diverse aspects of Brazil! In this 30 minutes crash course you will learn 5 essential steps to Samba No Pé and put them all together for an awesome combo! Prepare for an exciting, fast-paced dance session that is great for all levels!

All of his shows are motivating, silly and above all else, FUN! He hopes that audiences will walk away not only feeling entertained, but also motivated to go out and do whatever it is that is inside of them no matter how "silly" they think it is. The wonder of bubbles take us all back to a day before distractions of modern technology. A time when one could relax and just watch the bubbles floating by. He also can be seen on the Main Stage at 2:15pm on Saturday, June 18th.

This drum workshop is led by Lawrence Greene. He is the founder of Ugata, a cultural education and social services organization based in Southeast Ohio. He has been performing and teaching West African drum traditions for 10 years. He uses movement and sound to develop spiritual clarity and inspiration for his students and self. During the drumming workshop (first come first serve), participants will move through some traditional west African rhythms. Practice call and response play and traditional arrangement. Students can bring any percussion instrument. Ugata drummers will have djembes, dun dun drums, and various percussion pieces. Then we will have an hour long freestyle drum circle.

Angie Iafrate is a hooping instructor. She has always loved hula hoops, but not until she was all grown up did she discover the FUN and creative exercise of hoopdance and the larger, adult-sized hoops it requires. In 2012 she was officially certified as a hoopdance instructor by Hoopnotica, an international leader in the hoopdance/hoop fitness movement, whose teacher training programs are approved by the AFAA and ACE national fitness organizations. She offers weekly classes, one-time workshops, private/semi-private lessons, and regularly participates in local festivals and fairs to share hooping with the community. Kids are encouraged to attend the hula hoop making workshop in the pavilion and then join Angie for some hooping instruction at the Arts in Motion stage afterward. All ages are welcome to try their hand...or hips at this expressive activity.

Join Katrina and Luvia, plus guest instructors, for an introduction to a Zumba fitness class. Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. It is a total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class.

Steve entertains with magic that is quite literally in his hands and more often than not, in your hands as well. His magic happens literally inches away from your eyes, everyone watching will have the opportunity to share in this unique and intimate experience. Steve performs with warmth and humour, captivating his audiences and leaving them totally spellbound with his mysteries. Steve Performs the Mid Ohio Valley, West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Florida, Illinois and Tennessee. Steve was also asked to perform in England, France Canada and Australia. Steve can also be seen strolling the festival grounds from 6-9pm Friday and 12:15-9 pm Saturday.
